Ingredients

1 package yeast
1/2 cup warm water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
6 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups scalded milk
2 tablespoons Crisco shortening

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix yeast in water and set aside to dissolve. Combine dry ingredients. Add milk, shortening, and yeast. Pour into two greased 8 × 4 × 3-inch pans. Bake for approximately 45 to 50 minutes.
