Eggs, Scrambled

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Bland

    Step 1

In addition to all the usual stuff, like onions and mushrooms and tomatoes and spinach, consider the following seasonings, all of which are compatible with scrambled eggs: basil, chervil, ground cloves, cumin, curry, marjoram, toasted poppy seeds, rosemary, tarragon, thyme, and turmeric. Or try grating in a bit of Parmesan cheese for a rich taste in exchange for a few extra calories.

  2. Overcooked

    Step 2

Chop up to use on salads, for garnishes, in fried rice, or in egg salad. See also eggs, general, overcooked. Put on toast, sprinkle with shredded cheese, and run under the broiler until the cheese melts.

  3. Tough

    Step 3

Salt tends to make cooked eggs tough. Next time, add the salt after cooking. (Pepper doesn’t have this effect.)
