Ingredients

1/2 cup white-wine vinegar
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup packed fresh mint leaves, coarsely chopped

Preparation

  1. In a small saucepan, bring vinegar, sugar, and the water to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer until liquid is syrupy and reduced to 1 cup, 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in mint, and let cool completely. (Sauce can be refrigerated up to 1 week in an airtight container.)
