Ingredients

1 cup packed fresh mint leaves plus mint sprigs for garnish
1/4 cup sugar
A chilled 750-ml. bottle dry white wine
1/4 cup brandy

Preparation

  1. In a pitcher combine the mint, the sugar and 3 tablespoons hot water and with a wooden spoon combine the mixture well, bruising the mint. Stir in the wine and the brandy and chill the sangría, covered, for 1 hour. Strain the sangría into tall glasses filled with ice cubes and garnish each drink with mint sprig.
