Ingredients

2 tablespoons honey
2 basil sprig, plus 1 for garnish
1 ounce bourbon
1 ounce Campari
¾ ounce grapefruit juice
¾ ounce lemon juice
½ ounce honey syrup
2 grinds of black pepper

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Shake 2 tablespoons honey and 1 tablespoons warm water in a small jar until honey is dissolved.

    Step 2

    Combine 1 basil sprig, 1 ounce bourbon, 1 ounce Campari, ¾ ounce grapefruit juice, ¾ ounce lemon juice, ½ ounce honey syrup, and 2 grinds of black pepper in a cocktail shaker. Fill shaker with ice and shake vigorously until outside of shaker is frosty.

    Step 3

    Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice and garnish with a fresh basil sprig.
